It was nearly a year ago on a very dreary day, just like today, that I parked my car on Civic Center Drive and found my way into the Garden entrance of the Greenblatt/Janollari offices to read for the role of Ford on a pilot called Oh Grow Up. And while Oh Grow Up's demise put me out of a job, it was just a speed bump for the production team of Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari, the heads of the production team behind the show. Today I auditioned for one of their latest ventures. They are producing an claymation pilot set in high school. I read for the nerd who is secretly gay. Hmmmm... a young claymation Ford?
It was interesting to be back in that building after all that has
happened. And it was nice to see their familiar faces. I stopped in
to see Bob and David and Theresa while I was there. Plus it was good
to see Carol, too. She read me for both TED (young Ford), and the
bratty TIMMY. The TED scenes went much better. I had taken some time
to prepare them, so that helped. The TIMMY sides I looked at just
before going in to read. It would be fun to have a regular voice-over
job. It's easy work for good money and I like being associated with
Greenblatt/Janollari. They're nice people in a not-so-nice business.
I don't really have a sense of what I sound like, though. I just have
to hope I did what they were looking for.
