Good. But not great.

Fine. But not phenomenal.

OK. But not Oh Wow.

Another commercial with no dialogue, which means I'm trying to get the job based on look, attitude, and style...

• My look was not quite right. The guy is supoosed to be the computer expert at a big corporation, a slacker/hacker kindd of look. Preppie guy doesn't quite cut it.
  

• The attitude was supposed to be a casual devil-may-care kind of approach, just an average guy with a fantastic job. The problem there is that I think sometimes I'm working so hard to get it all right that I can't convincingly look casual and laid back.
  
• And style? I did everything they said to do. Style points? Zero. I didn't come up with anything earth-shattering, nothing clever, nothing that would blow them away.

So while nothing was horribly wrong, nothing was fantastically right, either. It's like performing a perfect swan dive off a 50-meter platform. No matter how solid it is, you're not going to beat the guy who does a triple lindy.
