Audtion report--

Well, Melissa Martin seems to have me on her short list for young businessmen, which is very, very good. Today's adventure was a single question based on "How is Valentine's Day going?" I went with the nightmare relationship stand-up bit:

CAMERAMAN
So have you sent any flowers today?

DUCEY
Well, I just broke up with my girlfriend actually.
But it was a good thing I think. I had to do it.
I think I knew the relationship was bad when I was
sitting there watching the Jerry Springer show
and there were a couple of freaks screaming at each
other and all I could think was,
"They've got it pretty good."
So I ended my relationship.

And it got a pretty good laugh from the woman on the end. And it was appreciated generally by the group.
During the "improv" portion of the audition, we were all supposed to be looking at some sort of architectural project, just throwing in dialogue. It went something like this:

WOMAN #1
These blueprints look good, but what do you think
about the height?

DUCEY
I talked to Bob about that and they're working on it.

WOMAN #2
What about the color?

DUCEY
The blue? That's all they had for the blueprints.
I tried to get pink-prints, but...

Yeah, pretty stupid, I know, but it also got a good laugh from the woman on the end (the one whose boyfriend made her a swing for Valentine's Day) and the rest of the group. And that was it.
